Expected audience for my topic?

It would be any college students. But, it is especially for students at CSUSB becuase they might have wanted to join any clubs at this school and couldn't find certain club to join. Students might not be active to try to find a club that they are interested in. But, it would be fault caused by this school too. I am really curious why this kind of situation happens. I am going to make a questionare to know the reasons and have an interview with some staffs of the student union office. And, I want to post my writing and share the information after I solve the problem and establish the information.

  1. I am really interested to see your findings regarding this issue. I always thought that even though I have never personally been into "clubs" or been involved in any way at all at school besides attending classes, that other people were. I thought that college students were all supposed to be really into these sorts of things. I don't know, I mean I understand that I have never sought out the stereotypical "college life" but I assumed more people at CSUSB did. Maybe this has something to do with the fact that CSUSB is a commuter school. Most of the students do not live on campus, and most of them live in the same area they did in high-school, maybe this is part of the problem. When people aren't moving away for college they are just continuing on with their high school friends and life, instead of continuing on to the next stage of their life: college life. I don't know I just found this topic extremely interesting, even though I myself am not a participator in school events at all.

  2. My school back in Korea, Dongguk university, is also commuter school. More than eighty percent of the students commute between their home and school. I think the average of spending time is more than thirty minutes. I used to travel to school every day. It takes 1hour and half by bus or train. To get to school, I have to transfer the subway line three times. It was really tiring. I also had three tutor jobs, working five days a week. In spite of this tiring and busy schedule I joined two clubs at the same time. That is why I feel weird that many students at CSUSB are indifferent about club activity. I think that is because of atmosphere of this university. If this school supports clubs financially and encourages students to involve in club activities, it would not happen. In other words, I am saying the problem might be because this school is commuter school but it is not only the reason.
